MY CONTRIBUTION Co-lead branding strategy, design conceptualization with my UX colleague, David Budreau. I was responsible for design execution, communicating with IBM Design members and internal stakeholders. My key contribution was to distinguish Z DevOps portfolio from the rest of generalized branding, while not deviating from the suggested guidelines.
RESULTS Branding assets where widely rolled out and used in marketing, product demo and customer facing materials.
Storytelling aspect of UX design is one of my favorite parts. It is an important skill that enables designers to empathize with target users guided by creative imaginations and hypothesis. A user story can be an illustration, elaborate storyboard or well-written paragraph.
Before (or As-Is) our “Clienteling” feature. Angela, Store Associate is having problems with assisting customers due to she does not know their personal taste or interest. it is hard for her to recommend customers more relevant products based on their previous orders, purchases, interested items and shopping patterns.
A fun illustration showing how IBM Store's clienteling feature can empower Angela, store associate @Aurora, Hardwood Ave in assisting VIP customer, Michelangelo Merisi. With analytics and Watson technology working in the backend, clitenteling is powerful tool for Angela to increase revenue and improve sales.
This was done just for fun to end my tenure at IBM Watson Commerce on a high note
Supply Chain disruption was a huge problem in the ancient world, too. The ancient Romans actively traded with their neighbors thru lands and sea lanes. There were so many factors that affected trade and supply chain.
Inspired by an Italian Baroque Master, Caravaggio and his technique of using light and dark and hiring of the models. Thru my creative imagination, this might have been what his studio might have looked and how he recruited street people as his models.
Toby and his friend time travel and meet with an ancient Roman historian to taste ancient Roman delicacy, Garum.

I studied classical fine arts for many years to train my eyes and capture the unique characteristic of objects whether that maybe portrait, still life or landscape. UX design and drawing has a lot in common. First a designer/artist should be able to paint a big picture for overall compostion and then drill down to detail. When an artist is bogged down by detail in the beginning, he/she will likely miss the big picture. The same applies to UX Design.
